Housing Struggles in the East Village: 1970 to 1990

This exhibit aims to provide an overview of housing issues and activism in the East Village from 1970 to 1990. Key issues addressed are tenant organizing, squatting and homesteading. Images in the exhibit are drawn from the photo archive of the Metropolitan Council on Housing and the Squatters’ Rights Collections at New York University’s Tamiment Library.
